Ideas

Enterprise AI, decision systems and the work around intelligence.

I write about what happens between a model producing an answer and an organisation creating value from it: context, decisions, workflows, agents, governance, adoption, customer intelligence, analytics and human judgement.

What the writing returns to

Ten working beliefs

  1. The model is only one layer of the system.

What surrounds the model: context, control, workflow, judgement, learning?

  2. AI activity is not AI capability.

What capability exists now that did not before?

  3. The hard problem is often the operating model.

Who owns it, who decides, who is accountable?

  4. An agent is not a bigger prompt.

What may this system know, decide and do?

  5. Governance belongs inside the architecture.

Was safe action designed in, or bolted on later?

  6. More data is not better context.

What context is relevant to this decision?

  7. A prediction is not a decision.

Signal, context, judgement, action, response, learning: where does the loop break?

  8. Customers experience decisions, not models.

What did the customer actually experience?

  9. Adoption is part of the architecture.

Will people use it, in the flow of their work?

  10. Human judgement and accountability still matter.

Who handles the exception, and who can stop it?
