Mapping Kognita against the MAS AI risk guidelines

Two days after MAS issued its Guidelines on AI Risk Management, I mapped the Kognita alpha roadmap against them, adopted the gaps and narrowed the scope to governance only.

MAS issued its Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence Risk Management on 7 October 2026. Kognita is meant for regulated firms, so the roadmap had to answer to them.

I mapped the roadmap against the guidelines and wrote down where it fell short. The gaps went into the roadmap as items with releases attached, which is where the 0.4 use-case register, outcome metrics and review queue came from. The EVOLVE slides were updated to match.

The same mapping made the scope question obvious. Nothing in the guidelines needed a knowledge graph, and Kognita still carried one. I wrote down the decision to make Kognita a governance-only control plane (policies, guidelines and governance records) and planned the removal of the graph engine as the next step.

If you're building one

Map your design to the regulation the week it comes out. The gaps make a better backlog than the ones you think of yourself.
