Kognita 0.3 README: describing only what is true
A docs-only pass after Kognita alpha 0.3.0: the README, package description and keywords were checked line by line against the code and the CLI help.
0.3.0 was out, but the README still listed 0.2 gaps and the package description didn't mention the AI gateway or the MCP proxy. Someone finding Kognita on PyPI would have read about a different library.
I rewrote 'What it does today' to cover what had shipped, and cut 'Known limitations' down to gaps that were still true. Every claim was checked against the code, kognita serve --help, the 0.3.0 changelog and the roadmap. The package description now names the gateway and the proxy, and the keywords gained ai-gateway and mcp.
Continuous learning stayed in the roadmap section, described as later work. It was tempting to mention it as a feature. It wasn't one.
What I'd do differently
I'd make the README check part of the release checklist so it ships in the same hour, not the next day.
Take this with you
Your README is a claim. Check every line against the code before you call a release done.
